Today Is the International Epilepsy Day

An epileptic disorder is a chronic neurological condition characterized by recurrent epileptic seizures. Epileptic seizures are characterized by a hypersynchrony and hyperexcitability of one, or several, neural networks, leading to the apparition of spontaneous epileptiform events that we record by Electro Encephalography (EEG).
These events can be used as translational decision-making biomarkers for drug discovery.

Backed by strong partnerships with leading researchers in epilepsy and institutions such as the Epilepsy Therapy Screening Program and the University of Utah,we have developed complete Anti-Epileptic Drug (AED) Discovery programs. More than 500 drug candidates have been evaluated to date, thus contributing to providing epileptic patients with better treatment options.

In particular, we have set new standards for supporting AED development with proprietary clinically-relevant models that offer exceptional translational potential, unparalleled sensitivity and reproducibility for objective evaluation of a molecule anti-seizure or pro-epileptic potential.
